What Are The Common Causes Of Anxiety Symptoms

By: Evelyn Lim

Suffering from anxiety is very common. Daily stresses and age can cause anxiety. Studies indicate record levels of anxiety symptoms as we find ourselves unable to cope with the fast paced life and inability to keep up in terms of finances.

You can suffer from one or more of the following anxiety symptoms:

• Difficulty concentrating
• Loss of sexual desire
• Having feelings that people are staring at you or judging you
• Being over emotional
• Muscle tension
• Stress
• Loss of appetite
• Losing trust in those close to you
• Becoming reclusive and not leaving the home
• Restlessness
• Inability to function properly in social settings

At the workplace, we are expected to produce at higher productivity levels or risk losing our job to another person who can be employed more cheaply in a developing country. Historically, it has been that people would work in one company for the length of their career. However, there is hardly any job security any more. Employees risk being made redundant when their companies do not perform enough to churn a profit.

The easy debt culture has also meant that we can accumulate credit card debts all too quickly. The problem snowballs when we delay payment month after month until such a time when the bills become greater than our income. Anxiety symptoms start to set in. Any wonder that nearly one in sixty people in the western world suffer with anxiety at some point in their life.

Relationships can also cause anxiety symptoms. Divorce rates have never been higher. It is clear that many people in failed marriages suffer greatly. This suffering is not just from the breakdown of the relationship but from the after effects from the divorce. Anxiety symptoms are worse in cases where marriages of those with children break down.

You can develop more severe anxiety symptoms if you do not seek treatment or if you do nothing about feeling anxious. Invariably when you feel anxious, you find it hard to function normally in every day life. Anxiety symptoms can have an impact on your ability to interact socially. You become extremely unhappy and negative to the people around.
